The Opportunity
At Gallagher, we believe great workplaces enable great work. We’re looking for a Workplace & Facilities Lead to take ownership of our workplace and facilities function, ensuring our environments are safe, effective, well-managed and designed around the people who use them.
The Workplace & Facilities Lead is a pivotal role leading Gallagher’s workplace and facilities function across New Zealand. You’ll take ownership of the planning, management and continuous improvement of our workplaces, ensuring they are safe, effective, well-managed and support our people to do their best work.
You’ll:
Lead facilities strategy and operations across property, maintenance, fleet, site services and capital works.
Build the systems, processes and governance needed to create a more proactive, consistent and scalable facilities function.
Own facilities planning, budgeting, forecasting and supplier performance, partnering closely with Finance, Procurement, Engineering and Legal.
Ensure facilities-related health, safety, compliance and operational risks are well managed.
Partner with the People Team and business leaders to understand how different teams experience and use our workplaces, translating insight into practical improvements that lift safety, productivity, connection, and day-to-day employee experience.
Bring together the right internal and external expertise to continually improve our workplace experience.
Establish a model that can evolve beyond New Zealand and support Gallagher’s wider global estate over time.
This role is not just about maintaining buildings and services; it is about shaping workplace environments that make it easier for our people to connect, collaborate, stay safe and do their best work.
The Fit
You’re an experienced facilities or workplace leader who can confidently move between strategic planning and practical delivery.
You’ll bring:
Proven experience leading facilities or workplace functions across multiple sites, with accountability for budgets, planning and reporting.
Strong commercial and supplier-management judgement, with the ability to build trusted partnerships across specialist functions and external providers.
Experience managing facilities-related health, safety, compliance and operational risk.
A track record of building clear systems, processes, governance and accountability that reduce reliance on individual knowledge.
A strong customer and service mindset, with genuine curiosity about how different people experience and use their workplaces.
The ability to bring together employee, business and specialist insight to make pragmatic workplace decisions.
Strong planning and prioritisation skills, with a focus on shifting from reactive activity to planned, sustainable delivery.
The judgement to balance employee experience with safety, operational, commercial and long-term asset outcomes.
The confidence to know when specialist expertise is required and to effectively engage and manage external partners.
