The Opportunity
As our Interim Quality Improvement Lead, you'll play a key role in ensuring continuity across our Quality Management System (QMS), ISO 9001 certification activities, audit readiness, quality governance, reporting, and operational quality support.
You'll partner closely with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering, R&D, and Product teams to maintain effective quality controls, support continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure critical quality activities continue seamlessly throughout the contract period.
This assignment is expected to run for approximately 2-4 months, depending on business needs.
You'll be responsible for
• Supporting and strengthening Gallagher's Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring procedures, standards, controls, and documentation remain current and effective.
• Providing practical interim leadership across key quality activities, helping teams maintain focus on quality priorities, risks, and improvement initiatives.
• Coordinating ISO 9001 certification activities, including internal and external audit preparation, findings management, action tracking, and closure.
• Supporting quality governance forums, management reviews, reporting processes, and escalation pathways.
• Monitoring quality performance, identifying trends and risks, and driving corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) through to resolution.
• Investigating quality issues, facilitating root cause analysis, and implementing sustainable improvement actions.
• Supporting supplier quality activities, including corrective actions, quality performance reviews, incoming material quality matters, and audit preparation.
• Working cross-functionally to resolve quality issues, minimise operational impacts, and maintain effective quality controls.
• Supporting testing and validation activities where required, ensuring quality risks, defects, and outcomes are effectively managed and communicated.
• Maintaining quality reporting, dashboards, and visibility of key quality metrics and trends.
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product quality, process effectiveness, and operational outcomes.
The Fit
We're looking for a practical and experienced quality professional who can quickly establish credibility, maintain momentum, and provide confident leadership across both quality systems and operational quality activities.
To be successful in this role, you'll bring:
• Proven experience working within ISO 9001-certified environments and managing Quality Management Systems.
• Significant experience working within ISO 9001-certified environments and managing Quality Management Systems.
• Strong knowledge of audit programmes, CAPA processes, root cause analysis, and quality governance.
• Experience balancing system-level quality oversight with hands-on operational quality support.
• The ability to influence and collaborate effectively across Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering, R&D, Product, and Operations teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills supported by a data-driven approach.
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with confidence engaging at all levels of the business.
• A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a commitment to maintaining quality standards and continuous improvement.
Bonus points if you have:
• Internal Auditor qualifications.
• Experience in manufacturing, electronics, or other complex operational environments.
• Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement training.
• Experience supporting supplier quality programmes and audit readiness activities.
• Previous experience providing interim leadership or covering critical business functions during periods of leave.
