About Gallagher
Gallagher is a global leader in animal management and security technology, with customers in more than 160 countries. Whether we're helping farmers improve animal welfare through world-leading AgTech or protecting critical infrastructure around the world, our technology helps solve real-world problems.
As our business continues to evolve, we're investing in modern data platforms, enterprise governance and AI capabilities that will shape how information is managed and used across Gallagher. This is creating exciting opportunities for experienced data leaders to influence the foundations that will support innovation for years to come.
The next chapter of that journey is already underway - and that's where you come in.
The Opportunity
As Gallagher continues to invest in data, analytics and AI, we're strengthening our enterprise data capability by establishing the governance, standards and architectural foundations that will support the future of the business.
As Principal Solution Architect – Data, you'll play a pivotal role in that journey. You'll define how enterprise data should be designed, governed and managed across the organisation, setting the standards, principles and future-state architecture that enable trusted, scalable data across the business.
You'll own the designs, standards and architectural decisions; our Data, AI & Analytics engineering team builds and runs them. You'll partner with senior business and technology leaders, influence architectural decisions across DS&T and the business, and provide architectural leadership across major transformation initiatives.
While you'll bring strong technical credibility, this role is primarily focused on enterprise strategy, governance and architecture. You'll personally produce solution architectures, ADRs, standards and reference patterns, and you'll need enough depth in our stack to set and assure them credibly.
Working closely with our Data, AI & Analytics engineering team, Enterprise and Solution Architects, Cyber Security, our SAP/ERP and CRM teams and senior business stakeholders, you'll shape how data is modelled, governed and consumed across Gallagher, while supporting the responsible adoption of analytics and AI across multiple regulatory environments.
You'll be responsible for
Owning the target-state enterprise data architecture and multi-year data roadmap
Establishing enterprise data governance, architectural principles and standards
Designing future-state data architectures that support business growth, analytics and AI
Providing architectural leadership across major business and technology transformation initiatives
Ensuring enterprise data solutions align with technology strategy, security requirements and regulatory obligations
Guiding technical teams on architecture decisions while supporting successful implementation
Partnering with senior stakeholders to translate business needs into practical data architecture outcomes
Championing trusted, scalable and well-governed data across the organisation
Acting as design authority for data at our Architecture Review Board
Designing the data architecture for our S/4HANA, CRM and S&OP programmes, plus the master data and semantic layer that underpin them
Setting operational-readiness expectations (high availability, resilience and recoverability) for data platforms supporting 24/7 manufacturing
Applying commercial judgement to sequencing and return on investment
The Fit
You're an experienced Data or Solution Architect who enjoys setting the architectural direction and standards that engineering teams build against.
You know how to balance long-term architectural thinking with practical business outcomes, and you're equally comfortable discussing technical design with engineers as you are influencing senior stakeholders.
You understand that great data architecture isn't just about technology - it's about establishing the governance, standards and roadmap that allow an organisation to confidently leverage data, analytics and AI.
You'll also bring:
Significant experience in Enterprise, Data or Solution Architecture within complex organisations
Strong understanding of enterprise data platforms, governance, integration patterns and data modelling
Experience defining enterprise architecture standards, governance frameworks and strategic roadmaps
Knowledge of modern cloud data platforms (Databricks, Unity Catalog, Azure, dbt), analytics and emerging AI capabilities
The ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
Experience influencing architectural decisions across multiple teams and business functions
A collaborative, transparent and outcomes-focused approach to leadership
