About the Role
Credentials are one of the most strategically important growth platforms in Gallagher Security.
Sitting at the intersection of physical security, digital identity, mobile experience, and ecosystem interoperability, credentials directly influence how customers experience trust, convenience, and modern access control. They also play a critical role in driving adoption across the wider Gallagher ecosystem, including readers, Command Centre, and mobile applications.
This is a Product Owner role with real depth and complexity. You’ll be responsible for translating strategy into execution across a highly technical product space that spans hardware, firmware, cloud services, mobile applications, cryptography, and third-party ecosystem integration.
Working closely with the Product Manager, who owns strategy, roadmap direction, and ecosystem engagement, you will focus on execution excellence, ensuring priorities are clear, delivery is disciplined, and outcomes are measurable. What you’ll be responsible for:
• Translate product strategy into clear, prioritised, and actionable backlogs for delivery teams
• Own backlog prioritisation, balancing customer value, technical feasibility, security, and long-term product sustainability
• Manage product lifecycle elements including pricing lists, stock management, obsolescence, and hardware-related considerations
• Define acceptance criteria, validate usability, and ensure quality standards are met across releases
• Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, operations, and marketing to deliver successful product releases
• Support go-to-market execution and customer enablement activities for new and evolving credential offerings
• Ensure regulatory, security, and compliance requirements are embedded throughout the product lifecycle
• Establish and track success measures to ensure outcomes are understood and continuously improved
• Use AI-enabled tools and approaches to improve delivery efficiency, decision-making, and product execution within an enterprise-secure environment
About You
You’re a practical, delivery-focused Product Owner who thrives in complex, technical environments where clarity and prioritisation really matter.
You’re comfortable working across multiple disciplines, simplifying ambiguity, and aligning teams around what matters most. You bring strong stakeholder management capability and can build effective relationships across engineering, operations, and commercial teams.
One capability that will really set you apart is strong, practical use of AI. It might be hard to find, but we’re actively looking for someone who doesn’t just understand AI, but uses it to improve decision-making, speed up delivery, enhance analysis, and lift team productivity in a secure enterprise environment. You’ll bring:
• 3 to 5+ years’ experience in a Product Owner or similar product delivery role
• Experience working in complex hardware, software, or identity and security-related product environments (strong advantage)
• Strong understanding of Agile product development practices and backlog management
• Proven ability to translate product intent into clear delivery outcomes
• Experience working with cross-functional global teams
• Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities in fast-moving, technically complex environments
• A continuous improvement mindset with a strong focus on customer and business outcomes
• Experience or working knowledge of credential technologies (desirable)
• Demonstrated ability to use AI tools to improve product delivery and team productivity in a secure enterprise context
Working at Gallagher
At Gallagher, we believe innovation happens when great people are trusted to do meaningful work. You’ll join a collaborative, forward-thinking environment where continuous improvement is part of how we operate, not just a principle.
In this role, you’ll be working on products that sit at the centre of global identity and access innovation, with real influence over how customers experience our technology at scale. We also offer:
• Competitive Salary and annual bonuses
• Enjoy the benefits of an office-based role with the freedom to work from home on occasion and flexible hours that work around your life
• Free parking, a subsidised on-site café, and great eateries nearby
• Life and Disability Insurance and KiwiSaver on top
• Staff discounts through the Boost App
• A vibrant culture with team events, learning sessions and great coffee
If you’re excited by the challenge of shaping a strategically important product area at the intersection of identity, security, and innovation, we’d love to hear from you.
