About Gallagher – Animal Management
At Gallagher, we exist to protect what matters most. For over 85 years, we’ve been at the forefront of agricultural technology - helping farmers tackle some of the industry’s biggest challenges.
Our Animal Management team is redefining how farms operate, creating smart solutions that lift productivity, strengthen animal welfare, and support more sustainable farming. Trusted by farmers around the world, our technology - and the people behind it — are helping shape the future of agriculture.
The Opportunity
This is a rare opportunity to lead communications for a globally recognised ag-tech business and help shape how our story is told – internally and with the wider industry.
As Head of Communications – Animal Management, you’ll guide how we communicate across the business, setting the direction and governance that ensures messaging is clear, consistent, and aligned with what’s happening across the organisation.
Working closely with leaders and teams around the world, you’ll bring important work to life – from highlighting internal stories and celebrating team achievements, to partnering with colleagues on thought leadership and industry conversations. You’ll keep a finger on the pulse of the business, translating complex initiatives into communications that keep people informed, connected, and proud of the impact we’re making.
Externally, you’ll help strengthen our voice through media engagement and storytelling – publishing compelling content and acting as a trusted point of contact for media and industry stakeholders.
Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer and working closely with the Animal Management Leadership Team, this is a senior enterprise communications role that combines strategic thinking with strong relationships, sound judgement, and a collaborative approach.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll own the communications strategy and governance for Animal Management, shaping how we communicate both internally and externally. As a trusted advisor to executive and leadership teams, you’ll lead communications for complex, high-stakes initiatives - ensuring messages are clear, consistent, and credible.
You’ll drive global media and external communications, build thought leadership that positions us as an industry leader, and oversee internal channels, key narratives, and communication rhythms that keep teams aligned.
You’ll also serve as the key point of contact for media, coordinating across the business on our external position while monitoring brand, media coverage, and sentiment - using insights to continually strengthen and refine our approach.
The Fit
You’re a senior communications professional who thrives at the intersection of strategy, influence, and clarity. You’re comfortable navigating complexity, working with strong stakeholders, and guiding outcomes without needing direct control.
This is not a marketing role – this is a role for a seasoned communications specialist who’s looking to move into senior leadership.
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:
Extensive experience in communications, public relations, or corporate affairs
A strong background in media relations, thought leadership, and change communications
Proven ability to influence senior leaders and cross functional teams
Excellent judgement and calm under pressure, particularly in sensitive situations
A collaborative, collegial working style with a continuous improvement mindset
Experience in agriculture or technology is helpful, but not essential - what matters most is your ability to shape credible narratives and lead communications at scale.
Why Gallagher?
At Gallagher, we offer more than a role - we offer the chance to make a genuine impact. You’ll be supported by a values driven, people focused culture and have the opportunity to shape communications for a business that truly matters.
