About the Role
As our Devices portfolio continues to expand, we’re looking for a Lead Engineer – Factory Integration to provide technical and people leadership across production-facing engineering initiatives.
This is a pivotal role sitting at the intersection of R&D and Operations. You’ll guide a squad while remaining hands-on - leading architectural design, mentoring engineers, and ensuring our embedded, firmware, and software-enabled products transition seamlessly from development into scalable, secure manufacturing environments.
You’ll act as the technical authority for factory integration, enabling high-quality production outcomes while shaping engineering standards, delivery practices, and long-term capability.
In this role, you will:
• Lead factory integration strategy for new product introduction (NPI), ensuring production readiness across hardware, firmware, and software systems
• Provide high-level architectural oversight and technical direction across factory integration initiatives
• Guide squads in best practice development patterns and secure product development
• Develop and refine automation, validation, and production test frameworks to support scalable manufacturing
• Partner closely with Production Engineering and Operations to resolve complex production issues and improve yield and quality
• Mentor and coach engineers, growing capability across embedded systems
• Drive secure, high-quality delivery through strong design reviews, coding standards, CI/CD, and automated testing practices
• Identify systemic risks and proactively lead resolution across cross-functional teams
• Contribute to the strategic direction of the product portfolio through technical insight and innovation
About You
You are an experienced technical leader who thrives in complex product environments where hardware, firmware, cloud, and manufacturing intersect.
You bring deep engineering capability, but just as importantly, you know how to guide others - setting technical direction, elevating standards, and building strong, accountable teams. You’re comfortable operating at architectural level while staying close enough to delivery to unblock, coach, and challenge when needed.
You likely bring:
• A relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, or similar
• 8+ years’ commercial development experience in embedded, firmware, or software-led product environments
• Demonstrated experience leading engineers (directly or indirectly) within agile delivery teams
• Strong architectural capability across embedded systems and/or cloud-connected products
• Experience supporting NPI processes and production test integration
• Knowledge of CI/CD, automated testing, secure development practices, and version control
• Experience diagnosing and resolving complex production or integration issues
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence across R&D, Product, and Operations
• A mindset grounded in continuous improvement, accountability, and collaboration
