Why Gallagher?
Know livestock. Know farmers. Know what works.
Norton is part of Gallagher and has been designing and manufacturing practical livestock handling solutions for Australian farmers for decades. Now we're looking for someone who can take that expertise into the field – building relationships, identifying opportunities and turning customer needs into smart yard solutions.
You'll have the autonomy to manage your region, spend time on farms and own opportunities from first conversation through to sale.
Alongside a competitive package, you'll get a company vehicle, 20% incentive, laptop, phone and iPad, plus the backing of an experienced agricultural team.
The Opportunity
This is a field-based sales role with a difference.
You'll work directly with livestock producers to understand how their yards operate, what they're trying to achieve and where things could work better. You'll assess sites, understand livestock flow, develop initial yard concepts and build proposals that our CAD team turns into detailed designs.
You'll own the customer relationship and the sales opportunity – from the first farm visit through to closing the deal and delivering a solution the customer is genuinely happy with.
There's plenty of variety: on-farm visits, customer conversations, yard design, quoting, dealer relationships and commercial sales.
What you’ll do
Build strong relationships with farmers, dealers and rural industry contacts
Visit farms to assess sites, understand requirements and identify opportunities
Develop practical yard concepts and project proposals
Manage sales opportunities from enquiry through to close
Grow sales and market share across your region
Support and train dealers and customers
Keep your pipeline, forecasting and CRM activity on track
Work with our sales, technical and CAD teams to deliver great customer outcomes
The Fit
We're looking for someone who understands agriculture and knows how to sell into it.
You might come from livestock or rural sales, farm infrastructure, animal handling equipment, rural consultancy, yard design – or have strong practical farming experience combined with commercial sales ability.
You'll bring:
A genuine understanding of livestock, cattle flow and on-farm operations
Experience selling to farmers or working in the agricultural sector
Strong commercial instincts and a proven ability to convert opportunities
Confidence building relationships and having practical conversations with customers
The ability to understand a customer's operation and recommend the right solution
Self-motivation, organisation and the independence to manage a regional territory
A practical, down-to-earth approach and a genuine connection with the agricultural industry
You’ll also be comfortable with travel of 2 – 3 days per fortnight depending on your location.
If you know livestock, understand farmers and have the commercial drive to turn opportunities into results, we'd like to hear from you.
Applications will be reviewed as they are received, and the role may be filled before the closing date.
