The Product

Named eShepherd, this future farm technology allows farmers to monitor, move and contain livestock anywhere on their ranch, breaking down those difficult to fence paddocks into smaller grazing cells to run a more efficient and thriving pasture-based system.
Our technology provides real-time data and 24/7 visibility of livestock, increasing productivity and profitability, improving animal health outcomes, and offering a cost-effective solution for environmental compliance and sustainable practices. eShepherd™ is a solar powered, GPS enabled, livestock neckband that enables you to simply draw your virtual fence anywhere on your property and your cattle learn to move with and remain within the virtual barrier.
The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Customer Engagement Representative to join our Australasian Sales team and continue our commercialization of the eShepherd virtual fencing products to our markets.
Reporting to the Director of Sales- Americas, you will be one of the Customer Engagement Representative responsible for sourcing and leveraging provided leads and using your expertise to drive sales for eShepherd products. You will play a pivotal role in expanding market reach, fostering client relationships, and achieving revenue targets. This role demands a blend of strategic thinking, relationship building, and sales acumen to effectively promote our eShepherd products.
Operating predominantly in a remote way, you’ll be a critical function of supporting commercialization of the eShepherd product into the American market. Your primary focus will be leveraging leads from our website and wider eShepherd team and supporting the promotion of our critical points of difference, converting leads into customers.
You will be:
- Proficient in utilizing provided leads and conducting research to identify potential clients, as well as adept at sourcing new leads through various channels such as conversations, online resources, and events.
- Experienced in qualifying leads based on their suitability and potential for software focused solutions, ensuring efficient use of time and resources.
- Demonstrates a commitment to organizational efficiency by continuously updating and maintaining an accurate lead database and CRM system with relevant information.
- Capable of executing effective sales strategies informed by lead generation, qualification, and database management, contributing to overall sales success in the virtual fencing industry.
- Proactive pursuit of leads through cold-calling, follow-ups, and outreach campaigns where appropriate.
The Fit
With an ability to communicate with American farmers, you will be able to understand the product and support in depth customer interactions that connect our eShepherd value proposition to prospective customers in a meaningful, and relatable way. This role will require some of the following:
- A relevant qualification in agriculture, marketing, management or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in AgTech or digital farming solutions, with a strong understanding of virtual fencing technologies.
- A good practical understanding of farming business, practice, and technology
- Strong emotional intelligence (EQ) and well-developed communication skills to build effective working relationships with our customers and across the eShepherd team.
- Results-driven mindset with a focus on achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Experience in start-up generalist sales role advantageous.
- An ability to travel to support good customer connections will be occasionally required.
