As part of Gallagher’s Animal Management division, eShepherd™ is leading the charge in smart farming tech - we’re redefining how livestock is managed.
eShepherd™ is our breakthrough virtual fencing solution that enables farmers to monitor, move, and manage cattle from anywhere. Using GPS-enabled, solar-powered neckbands, farmers can create digital fence lines from their phone - transforming land use, reducing labour, and improving both environmental and animal welfare outcomes.

We need a Service Engineer who’s ready to roll up their sleeves and make it happen, and here’s where you come in.
What You’ll Tackle
A hands-on role supporting the future of smart farming, you’ll be at the frontline of product reliability - diagnosing, repairing, and refurbishing our innovative livestock management devices. You’ll work across returns processing, technical support, and firmware validation, ensuring every product that reaches the field performs at its best.
This role offers a unique blend of electronics troubleshooting, customer interaction, and collaboration with R&D and operations teams. You’ll be instrumental in maintaining product quality, supporting Specialist Partners, and continuously improving service workflows that directly impact our customers’ experience.

Here’s what you bring to the herd:
- A qualification in electronics, engineering, or strong technical aptitude
- Experience diagnosing and repairing electronic equipment to component level (or a strong willingness to learn)
- Familiarity with tools like multimeters, oscilloscopes, and test jigs
- The ability to explain technical stuff clearly — no jargon, just clarity
- Experience with CRM or inventory systems (SAP is a bonus)
- A proactive mindset, sharp organisational skills, and the ability to juggle tasks without dropping the ball
