Using GPS-enabled neckbands, powered by solar, farmers can create digital fence lines from their phone, transforming how land is used, reducing labour, and improving both environmental and animal welfare outcomes.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for an Animal Production Specialist to be eShepherd’s on-the-ground expert in livestock behavior, animal welfare, and practical farm application. You’ll work directly with producers, investigate field challenges, run on-farm trials, and bring real-world farming insights back into our Customer Success and Product teams.

What you’ll be doing

• Provide practical advice on livestock behavior, animal welfare, grazing management, and virtual fencing.

• Visit farms to observe livestock and system performance and help customers achieve successful outcomes.

• Investigate complex field issues and develop practical recommendations.

• Plan and conduct on-farm trials and product validation activities.

• Turn field learnings into better customer guidance, training, support practices, and product improvements.

• Partner with Product, Engineering, Customer Success, Support, and industry experts.

• Represent eShepherd at field days, customer events, research activities, and industry forums.

• Travel approximately 10–20%, including driving, air travel, and overnight stays within the U.S. and Canada.

What you’ll bring

• Degree in Animal Science, Agricultural Science, Veterinary Science, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.

• 3+ years of experience working with commercial livestock production, ideally beef and/or dairy grazing systems.

• Strong practical knowledge of livestock behavior and animal welfare.

• Experience working directly with farmers in a technical, advisory, veterinary, research, or production capacity.

• Confidence handling and working around livestock in commercial farm environments.

• Strong investigative and problem-solving skills with the ability to turn observations and data into practical recommendations.

• A practical, approachable communication style and the ability to build credibility with producers.

• A clean, full driver’s license.
