We usually respond within a week
Why Gallagher?
Gallagher is a global technology business with more than 85 years behind it, but eShepherd is building something very different from a traditional corporate environment and we’re growing quickly.
You'll be joining a high-growth part of the business that's scaling across markets, teams and functions. Things move quickly, priorities evolve and not everything is figured out yet. That's part of the excitement of this opportunity.
We need people who are comfortable with that pace - people who can look around corners, challenge the status quo and get stuck in when there's work to do.
Alongside a competitive salary and annual performance bonus, you'll enjoy:
Office-first working with flexibility where it works (minimum 3 days in the office a week, with additional onsite days required depending on work demands)
Free onsite parking, a subsidised café and great local eateries
KiwiSaver on-top and Life and Disability insurance
Mentorship and professional development opportunities
A supportive team culture with team-building events, creative inspiration trips and a fun environment
About Gallagher
At Gallagher, we're building technology that protects what matters most. Our products are used in more than 160 countries, and our Animal Management business is taking that global reach into the future of agriculture.
eShepherd is a fast-growing, globally distributed technology business within Gallagher. Its teams span countries, functions and time zones, with ambitious plans for further growth.
That growth brings some meaty People challenges - how and where to build teams, what capability we need next, how to scale talent, how to navigate change and how to make good decisions when there isn't an obvious answer.
That's where you come in.
The Opportunity – A senior People role in the middle of the action
As People Lead – eShepherd, you'll report to our Global People Lead – Animal Management and partner directly with the eShepherd leadership team on the people decisions that will shape the next stage of the business.
You'll lead workforce planning, organisational design, talent and capability discussions, while providing senior-level advice on change and complex people matters.
But this isn't a role for someone who wants to sit back and advise from the sidelines.
You'll also get involved - whether that's working through an organisational change, helping solve a difficult people issue, figuring out where a team should grow, building a talent pipeline or personally getting into a critical hire.
You'll be working across New Zealand, Australia and other international teams, so you'll need to be comfortable navigating different markets, cultures and time zones. We're looking for someone with the experience and confidence to influence senior leaders, the judgement to operate in ambiguity, and the willingness to roll up their sleeves and get things done.
If you've worked in a global, technology, scale-up or similarly fast-moving environment, and you enjoy solving problems that don't come with a ready-made playbook, we'd like to hear from you.
You'll be responsible for
Leading strategic workforce planning and talent scaling
Partnering with senior leaders on organisational design, capability and team development
Supporting organisational change and complex employment relations matters
Shaping critical hiring, talent pipelines and recruitment strategy when required
Using people, talent and market insights to inform business decisions
Building scalable, practical people processes as the organisation grows
Working across regions, cultures and time zones to deliver globally aligned solutions
The Fit
You're an experienced senior People professional who has operated in a complex, changing environment before. You can hold your own with senior leaders, think commercially and strategically, and still get into the weeds when the situation calls for it.
You'll bring:
Significant senior People, HRBP, People Lead or broad generalist experience
Strong workforce planning and talent scaling experience
Experience partnering with senior leaders in a high-growth, changing or complex environment
Experience across organisational design, change and employment relations
Strong talent acquisition and hands-on recruitment capability
Experience working across global teams, markets and time zones
A practical, commercially minded and collaborative approach
Comfort with ambiguity and a genuine progress over perfection mindset
Agritech experience isn't essential. Experience in a global, technology, scale-up or similarly complex environment is more important.
If you're looking for a senior People role where you can genuinely influence the direction of a growing global business - and you're not afraid to get your hands dirty - we'd like to hear from you.
Applications will be reviewed as they are received, and the role may be filled before the closing date.
