Using GPS-enabled, solar-powered collars, farmers can remotely manage livestock without the need for traditional fencing, improving productivity while supporting better environmental and animal welfare outcomes.
We're looking for an Electronics Engineer to join our Melbourne-based eShepherd team and help develop the next generation of products behind this rapidly expanding technology platform.
The Opportunity
This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll contribute across the entire product development lifecycle, from concept and circuit design through to prototyping, testing, validation and production.
Working within a multidisciplinary team, you'll help create robust electronic solutions that perform reliably in challenging real-world environments. You'll collaborate closely with software, mechanical, product and manufacturing teams to bring innovative ideas to life and deliver products used by customers around the world.
This is an opportunity to work on technology that combines electronics, embedded systems, connectivity and IoT while seeing your work move quickly from concept into commercial deployment.
What You'll Be Doing
Design and develop electronic circuitry for new and existing products
Contribute to product development from concept through to production
Build, test and validate prototypes
Conduct troubleshooting, root-cause analysis and design verification
Support PCB design, schematic capture and electronics development activities
Ensure products meet EMC, electrical safety and regulatory requirements
Collaborate with Software, Product, Manufacturing and Quality teams
Work with suppliers and manufacturing partners to deliver quality outcomes
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practice
Participate in technical reviews and engineering problem-solving
What You'll Bring
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or similar
Experience designing and developing commercial electronic products
Strong analogue and digital electronics design capability
Experience with PCB design tools and electronics development processes
Understanding of product development and manufacturing environments
Knowledge of EMC compliance and electrical safety requirements
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Experience working with IoT devices, battery-powered products, embedded systems, wireless communications or ruggedised hardware environments will be highly regarded.
