We're looking for a Software Engineer - Mobile App Developer to help shape and grow the mobile experience at the heart of our platform.

Why This Role Is Different

Our mobile application is the primary way customers interact with eShepherd technology in the field. As a key member of our engineering team, you'll develop features that help farmers manage livestock remotely, monitor performance, and make informed decisions wherever they are.

You'll work on meaningful technical challenges including connected devices, geospatial experiences, real-time data, and low-connectivity environments, collaborating closely with Product, Cloud, Hardware and Firmware teams to deliver a seamless customer experience.

This is a hands-on role where you'll have the opportunity to take ownership, contribute ideas, grow your technical capability, and see your work used by customers every day.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Software Engineer - Mobile App Developer, you'll contribute to the design, development and enhancement of our React Native application across iOS and Android.

You'll:

• Design, build and maintain mobile application features

• Develop high-quality, scalable and maintainable code

• Collaborate closely with Product, Cloud, Firmware and Hardware teams

• Improve application performance, reliability and user experience

• Integrate with cloud services, APIs and connected devices

• Contribute to technical decisions and continuous improvement initiatives

• Solve challenges associated with remote and low-connectivity environments

• Take ownership of features from concept through to release

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who enjoys building products that solve real-world problems and takes pride in delivering quality software.

You'll thrive in this role if you're curious, collaborative, enjoy learning, and are motivated by seeing the direct impact of your work.

Ideally, You'll Bring

• 2+ years' experience in software or mobile application development

• Commercial experience with React Native

• Strong JavaScript and/or TypeScript skills

• Understanding of iOS and Android mobile development principles

• Experience delivering software features in production environments

• Experience working with REST APIs

• Familiarity with Git and Agile development practices

• Strong communication and collaboration skills

• Full working rights in Australia

Bonus Points For

• Firebase experience

• Mapping, geospatial or location-based services

• Bluetooth or IoT-connected devices

• Mobile CI/CD and deployment pipelines

• Cloud platform exposure

• Experience working on connected products or hardware-enabled solutions
