About Gallagher
At Gallagher, we protect what matters most. From securing some of the world’s highest-security environments to helping farmers manage their operations more efficiently, our technology solutions are trusted by customers around the world.
Our global headquarters and manufacturing site are proudly based in Hamilton, New Zealand. Here, our people-first culture and collaborative mindset create an environment where individuals and teams can do their best work while contributing to solutions that have global impact.
As Gallagher continues to grow and evolve, we’re actively shaping how leadership, talent and capability come together to deliver stronger performance at scale.
About the Role
This is a senior role focused on shaping how Gallagher builds organisational capability to deliver on its strategy - turning direction into clear, focused outcomes across the business.
You’ll lead organisational development across the Group, ensuring workforce planning, talent, org wide capability and leadership are aligned and translated into action that drives performance.
As a key member of the People Leadership Team, you’ll work to shape and drive strategic people decisions and group-wide programmes. You’ll play an active role in aligning priorities, challenging thinking and ensuring a connected, enterprise approach across the organisation.
We’re open to both permanent and contract arrangements, reflecting our focus on building long-term OD capability and growth while creating momentum across a critical set of initiatives.
Your focus will include:
• Translating our business strategy into a clear, prioritised organisational development roadmap that builds capability and drives performance
• Defining and evolving Gallagher’s leadership expectations and overall capability approach
• Establishing a disciplined approach to workforce planning and talent, enabling forward-looking decisions on critical roles and capability needs
• Setting direction across the OD portfolio, ensuring strong focus, sequencing and delivery through the team
• Leading, coaching and developing the OD team to build capability and deliver impact at scale
• Partnering with the wider people team and senior leaders to align and drive group-wide people initiatives and decisions
• Ensuring a connected approach across leadership, talent, learning and communications to create a coherent employee experience
• Monitoring impact and adapting activity to maintain pace and relevance as business needs evolve
About You
You’re a senior OD, talent or capability leader who enjoys working at enterprise level - bringing structure and clarity to complex challenges and helping organisations focus on what will have the greatest impact.
You think in systems, not programmes. You’re able to step back, see how the pieces connect, and then turn that into something practical that leaders can use day to day.
You’re comfortable working in environments where direction is evolving, and you’re at your best when shaping, prioritising and moving work forward.
You bring:
• The ability to take broad strategy and turn it into clear, practical action that sticks
• A pragmatic mindset - balancing long-term direction with pace, simplicity and real-world application
• Strong judgement and the ability to focus effort where it matters most, making trade-offs to maximise impact
• Experience working closely with senior leaders, challenging thinking and shaping decisions in a constructive way
• A track record of building capability in others - growing teams and enabling delivery through people around you
• A collaborative approach, working across functions to create alignment and reduce duplication
You’re motivated by building something that works in practice and you take pride in seeing ideas translate into meaningful change across an organisation.
