The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to join our Cloud and Infrastructure team and help ensure the stable, secure and reliable operation of Gallagher’s global systems.

This role focuses on core cloud and on-prem infrastructure, working across Azure, AWS, Windows, Linux and network environments. You’ll support the design, build and ongoing reliability of systems that underpin Gallagher’s global operations, with a strong emphasis on automation, monitoring, security and continuous improvement.

Working closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams, you’ll contribute to improving system resilience, supporting incident response, and embedding best-practice reliability and cloud security principles across the organisation.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Supporting the design, implementation and maintenance of reliable, scalable systems

• Configuring and improving monitoring, logging and alerting solutions

• Participating in incident response, troubleshooting and post-incident reviews

• Building and maintaining automation scripts to streamline deployments and operations

• Assisting with capacity planning and performance analysis

• Creating and maintaining runbooks, documentation and operational procedures

• Working closely with development, infrastructure and operations teams

• Ensuring systems are secure, compliant and aligned with Gallagher’s security standards

The Fit

You’re a technically capable engineer with a strong reliability and security mindset, who enjoys problem-solving and improving how systems operate at scale. You’re comfortable working across cloud and on-prem environments and are keen to continue developing your skills within a supportive, high-performing team.

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:

• 2–4 years’ experience in SRE, DevOps, systems or infrastructure engineering

• Experience working with cloud platforms such as Azure and/or AWS

• Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language (e.g. Python, Bash, Go)

• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)

• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills

• Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams

• A proactive, automation-first mindset with a strong focus on security

Desirable (but not essential):

• Exposure to ITIL fundamentals

• Experience with SaaS platforms (e.g. Office 365, Intune)

• Virtualisation (VMware, Hyper-V) and containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes)

• Network monitoring tools and SSL certificate management
