The Opportunity
We’re looking for a talented and experienced Senior Electronics Engineer to join our Devices Team. In this role, you’ll take ownership of designing, prototyping, testing, and implementing electronic circuit solutions for Gallagher’s innovative security products - ensuring compliance, manufacturability, and performance at scale.
You’ll collaborate with engineers across disciplines, production specialists, suppliers, and stakeholders to bring world-class products from concept to manufacture. Along the way, you’ll provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, and help shape Gallagher’s design practices and methodologies.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Designing robust, cost-effective electronic circuits that comply with international safety and EMC standards.
- Supporting system integration alongside software and mechanical engineers.
- Prototyping, testing, and refining designs to meet deadlines with accuracy and quality.
- Preparing and maintaining comprehensive hardware documentation.
- Providing technical leadership and mentoring within project teams.
- Leading or contributing to design reviews and improving internal design processes.
- Partnering with NPI, Manufacturing, and Procurement to ensure smooth production implementation.
- Researching emerging technologies and contributing ideas to future product development.
The Fit
You’re a collaborative and detail-driven electronics engineer with at least 5 years’ experience in hardware design, ideally within a product development and manufacturing environment. You enjoy problem-solving, mentoring others, and delivering high-quality outcomes that scale.
What you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or similar) with 5+ years’ hardware design experience.
- Skilled in circuit debugging (scopes, logic and network analysers) and familiar with PCB CAD tools, DFM/DFT practices.
- Strong knowledge of EMC principles and international safety standards.
- Excellent communication skills with a proactive, growth mindset.
- Advantageous: experience mentoring, circuit simulation tools, MRP systems, and Microsoft Office.
